Hi,

I've got a TV series where I'd accidently left an old .nfo for an episode in the directory AND when originally mucking around with TV Show scraping had pointed MC to a read-only share so it couldn't write out the new .nfo.

I've now been cleaning up my TV Shows since getting v3.168.

I've got it pointing to a writable share path and all has been fine except, for this one show where I had one episode with a messed up .nfo.

I Scraped the season of the show, then deleted the messed ...

Always wondered, is it possible to have the HTML file show more than just the title?

I mean the link to IMdb is great, but could you have it say show the poster and the brief outline/summary for the movie also?

i was just thinking it would be great to be able to use this fle as a way of telling friends and family what movies i have so they can borrow.

And, this is probably going too far, but is there a way to have it maybe split by genre or day added etc?

Anyway just an idea ...

I was having a problem with the scraper using an older version of MC (I'm assuming this was due to the IMDB issue).

I upgraded to 3.154, and now MC won't find my movies. I'm sure I have something set incorrectly. But, I can't figure out what.

It doesn't seem to be finding my .vob files. As shown below, there are only 2 movies in the movie folder (I rip them, scrape them, then put them on my server)

Any ideas?

At StormyKnight's request i'm posting the script I wrote to help organise shows.

What this program does:

Lets say you download your shows to a downloads directory (current directory), and you have your organised tv shows in various places (maybe multiple drives etc). This program is designed to automate you moving the show from the download directory into the correct season directory of the tv show.

It requires that your tv shows are organised something like this:

I downloaded 3.154, same thing.

I moved one movie to a temp folder, deleted it's .nfo and .tbn file and set that as my only folder in MC - still won't work.

No matter what I do every movie generates the same error and the scraper craps out.

I have a couple of bugs/suggestions/questions. I'm posting in general section as i'm unsure if either of these are actually bugs

When i use the "Output Movie List to HTML" it creates a list using just the first movie in my collection. It gets the total number of movies right, but they are all called 1408 (thats the name of the first movie in my list) and they all link to 1408. Is this a bug or has this not been implemented yet?

I've been using 2.135 for a long time and never had any issues with it.

I noticed it wasn't scraping TV shows anymore (I've read the 'What's Happening' post) so I thought I'd install a new version to see.

I have downloaded and tested a few newer ones including 2.292 and they won't load.

The splash screen comes up followed by an error message saying "XBMC Media Companion has stopped working"

I am running Vista and have .Net 3.5 and all updates.

I have changed the location of my media, no difference, I have update to the latstest Media companion and also no difference? All settings the same as normal. This just started yesterday. Has something changed? Very strange, all was going well and no idea why with out changing anything the scrapping stopped?

Please help or advice how I can get this really useful program back to life !

Basic Movie Renamer program based on nfo contents...

Ok I have whipped up this program over the last week or so & I thought some others may want to use it.

How it works...

You select YES or NO to if you want to rename or not. Basically if you say NO it goes thru the whole process but doesn't rename anything.

You select a Folder

The program searches for nfo files.

If found it gets the TITLE & YEAR info from the nfo

Hi,

I don't know what you have done to Media Companion, but after downloading version 3.039 I have had nothing but problems. Can you please tell me what the most stable version is? Unfortunately I deleted the version I had been using and can't remember what the version number was.

I know that there is constant pressure to add more and more features, but couldn't we first get a stable version that deals with movies only? The latest release is completely unusable for me, with un-checked ...

Nice new version of the soft.
I have a strange issue in my settings.
I checked the box corresponding to the option "don't overwrite existing thumbnails and fanart" the settings do not memorise it.
Maybe there's a "save" button missing somewhere?
Other strange thing, I use MediaPlayerClassic instead of WMP but I can't tell MC the path of my player.

Thanks again for the good job !

Keep going !

Just curious, with regards to TV shows and adding folders, in previous versions, it use to create the tvinfo.nfo in each tv series folder. Now I must click on each under select TV show and go to editor and scrape first?

Is this intended It's very time consuming when doing all tv series. I hope ...

Your program is the best in this class!

Believe me, I know! I've tried everything I could find on the web for the past two years.

I gave up looking so I even designed my own program butchering code from Autohotkey.

Suggestions:

I would like to see more functionality in the TV mode, as you have in the Movie mode.

There's so many movie programs out there but so few that properly work with TV series.

I look forward to following MC's development.

xbmc Media Companion is a very nice little program, tyvm!

Recent builds of YAMJ (Yet Another Movie Jukebox) that runs on the Network Media Tank platform (aka Popcorn Hour) have adopted the XBMC nfo file format. They are trying out the movie and tv show nfo / xml format to see how it will work as the meta data format for their open source YAMJ project.

I've been testing their first build with xbmc nfo support and it's surprisingly solid and full featured for a first build. YAMJ in general ...
