PostSubject: Using Media Companion with XBMC Fanart Splitter Plugin?   Wed Jul 06, 2011 4:49 pm

Hi.. I am new to Media Companion and so far I love the control it gives me over my media library. The ability to view media based on missing posters and fanart is awesome.

One thing I have been trying to do is use the plugin available for XBMC that allows you to split your movie and TV fanart into separate folders for use as backgrounds on the main menu for the Movies/TV Shows options or while browsing the move/tv libraries when there is no fanart for a particular movie/show. Normally it appears that XBMC places fanart within a fanart folder which the fanart splitter then compares to the entries in the individual libraries and copies out. When data is locally cached through Media Companion, it seems it just reads the local data from the local network and doesn't pull to that fanart folder. Is my assumption here correct? If so, is there a way to have Media Companion export movie and tv fanart? Or does anyone know a setting in XBMC where I can import my Media Companion fanart into the fanart folder?

Thanks in advance for any input!
