Hi Billy,

I'm like to see support for season banners, in terms of scraping and displaying of the season banners available on TheTVDb.com.
Add to this the ability to choose between wide banner or poster/portrait format.

Media Companion already supports season banners. They are scraped when you got the TV Show.

The TV Show Editor when its finally finnished, allows you to select your preferred banner for the TV Show, each season, and fanart. You will be able to select either wide or portrait depending on availability.

As for displaying, it would be a fairly easy matter to display the correct banner accross the top for each season.

After having scraped Lost, for example, I could not find the season banners in my folder.
I went into TheTVDb, searched for Lost, clicked on Season 1, and there they were.

This is the path they lie on in this example:

No they are not stored locally, XBMC can only import them from the nfo file.

The series thumbs are stored similar to actor thumbs, ie in the nfo as a url

If you open an tvshow.nfo file for lost you will see

<thumb><thumbs><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/73739-g4.jpg</thumb><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/73739-g7.jpg</thumb><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/73739-g5.jpg</thumb><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/24313-g2.jpg</thumb><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/73739-g.jpg</thumb><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/73739-g6.jpg</thumb><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/73739-g3.jpg</thumb><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/73739-g8.jpg</thumb><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/24313-g.jpg</thumb><thumb>http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/73739-g2.jpg</thumb><thumb type="season" season="0">http://thetvdb.com/banners/seasons/73739-0.jpg</thumb><thumb type="season" season="1">http://thetvdb.com/banners/seasonswide/73739-1.jpg</thumb><thumb type="season" season="2">http://thetvdb.com/banners/seasonswide/73739-2.jpg</thumb><thumb type="season" season="3">http://thetvdb.com/banners/seasonswide/73739-3.jpg</thumb><thumb type="season" season="4">http://thetvdb.com/banners/seasonswide/73739-4.jpg</thumb></thumbs></thumb>

As you can see this contains a banner for each season of lost.

At the moment the only local art that can be scraped by XBMC is folder.jpg filename.tbn and tvshow-fanart.jpg.

If people were to request support for local storage of all graphics including actors, coverart, season thumbs etc, then I could likely do something like that. Bt since the primary objective of this program is to make it easy to manage a library on XBMC and XBMC at this time does not support the import of these then i'm not sure I see the point.

I haven't started using the library mode of XBMC for TV shows yet. I do download a folder.jpg banner for each of my TV show folders and a folder.jpg portrait for each season folder within the TV show folders. I would be great if this was integrated into Media Companion. I would vote for having a choice of what graphics people want to store locally. For example I wouldn't care about having actor thumbs stored locally, but would like series and season banners stored locally. I'm not sure about fanart, but the choice would be nice.

Thanks Billy, for all your hard work.
