If you fire up XBMC Media Companion and get the error

Quote :
the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)

That's Micorsoft-speak for "Please install .NET Framework"

You'll need v2.0.5.xxx or later.

Download v1 from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=17153

You need v2 - not sure how to link via go.microsoft.com so use this URL: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5

Hope that helps someone else!

Actually this program is written with .net 3.5, while v2 may work at the moment I can't make any guarantees that this will always be the case.

Here is a direct link to the full 3.5 package :- Download

Thanks Billy. I noticed this when I re-read the website, specifically "Getting started" - might be helpful to link to that from the download page also, as it's easy to miss (for those of us who jump straight into using the program!)

Cheers
