Changes for new version 3.237

The IMDB scraper library has a big update for this build, so be sure to overwrite at least that file when extracting the archive. MC will not work with an older library

• Bugfix - TV Preferences were not saving on exit
  
  
• Bugfix - Error within IMDB search that resulted in the academy awards being returned for all movies once the google limit had been reached.
  
  
• Bugfix - Movie details would not be loaded when first item was selected after multi-select
  
  
• Bugfix - TV regex editor not working correctly
  
  
• Bugfix - Exception raised when trying to change TV Show posters.
  
  
• Bugfix - Various issues resulting from the addition of profiles have been addressed
  
  
• Change - The alternative title scrape feature has been tweaked a little, it did not return some results
  
  
• New - A few people have complained about the font used by MC, I have added an option in the general preferences to change this, It only effects movies at the moment, but I will extend it to TV shows for the next build.
  Some feedback regarding exactly how this should work would be nice, for example I suspect that I should be offering a number of font choices for different things, eg details, list, genres etc, any ideas will be considered.
  
  
• In progress - I mentioned the idea of adding a table view to MC, and spent a little time looking into the gridview, it doesn't do anything at the moment except list the movies, editing is not possible. I had hoped to get a little bit more done, but over the last few days I have been trying to address some more serious issues.
  

NOTE:- The user created "genre_filterlist.txt" will no longer work, the filename now needs to be "filters.txt"

The main cause of episodes not scraping is having the sort order set to 'dvd' when tvdb does not have the dvd listing order. Try setting the sort order to 'default', its a toggle button located under the art panel when viewing a tv show details.

thanks for the new version

MC no longer scrapes. It searches all the movie folders and finds the 4 new movie folders. Then I see the "Scraping 1 of 4..." at the bottom but it never leaves 1, the progress bar never moves. This is totally fresh install. It was -not- copied over the old one. What should I try?

Just scraped a movie and all scraped fine, so probably not a problem with imdb being down.

In movie preferences try turning off "Enable MC to scrape media tags to nfo file" sometimes this causes very slow scraping depending on file type.

I was using MC 3.198 (trying to remember the num) for a few months before just recently getting this 2.237 version.

I'm pretty sure I did have that turned off. Read that tip on the boards somewhere else :-)

I'll double check when I get back home.

nfo files are checked automatically for an imdb id now, no need for the option.

It sounds more like the movie files are dvd images, if this is the case then they will scrape eventually, but the mediainfo library takes a very long time (One person has said it took a whole night) to parse the file. The only fix at the moment is to disable media tags. XBMC can get these tags anyway so its not that big of a loss.

I guess I'm confused then. The old version took no more than 15-20 secs to scrape each new movie. How is "takes a whole night to scrape" better?!?

This is because of the implementation of media tags, and the slow scrape i believe only occurs with dvd images, .iso etc. This is because i believe MC has access this files to see what formats etc. have been used so that it can get the right tags. As billy said, if your movies are dvd images then turn off scraping of media tags. (which you have done in preferences)

The two main differences that i have from you is that i have "movie poster db" set as the first place to check for movie posters(i don't think this has much affect all sites seem to scrape at similar speed. The second thing is i have it set to a maximum of 5 actors. (Check the advanced tab in movie preferences to see if you have download actor thumbs enabled? try disabling it if it is enabled)

My root folder has a mixture of DVD folders (with VIDEO_TS and VOBs etc.) with folder being the full movie name with (YYYY). This root folder also has some .AVIs. Would this be a problem for the new version? My guess is no because it does seem to find the right number of new movies when it's search, but then the scrape never seems to work.

Well looks like you have all the same settings as me.

As a test perhaps you could remove your root folder from MC/movies/Folders. Then add just one folder that contains a an avi movie and run a scrape. see how that works? then remove that folder and add a movie folder that contains a dvd image and try scrape that.

Maybe the "enable MC to scrape media tags to nfo files" is not functioning as it should?

If we have the same settings, then one of the new movies in my root folder is erroring on the scrape (some unexpected return) and MC is not catching it. What else can it be?

Ok I found the problem. Within the root folder there was a DVD folder called "Three Kings (1999)". In the folder was the normal stuff: VIDEO_TS folder then the VOBs and IFOs inside that. So that was fine. However, I had also left a file called "3kings.iso" in the root folder too. I deleted this ISO and then the scrape(s) completed fine. So what does this mean in terms of how MC handles what it finds in the movie root folder?

As mentioned earlier in the thread .iso do scrape but just really really slowly if media tags are enabled. I believe they scrape at normal speed or close to it when media tags are disabled. So i don't no why you were having the problem.
