| I couldn't get the 3.260 to rename TV shows. No error but nothing was renamed.
I used an older version (3.244) to rename the shows.
Sorry, my first bug post.

| Try rebuilding the TV Show DB first - Its in the TV Show drop down menu.
If the data contained in this is any different to the actual data then it can cause problems like this.

| What's the best way to rebuild the TV show db?
I've tried TV Shows -> Rebuild shows
That didn't work
I've tried
Disabling cache of media db, then closing and reopening the program
That didn't work either...
And I've also tried removing selected folder, saving, closing the program, adding the folder, and saving with the db cache off.
I've only had partial success with the special episodes but the regular episodes just will not rename.
Using an older version of Media Companion seems to rename just fine?

| First post, so let me say THANK YOU for this fantastic app. It makes scraping data so unbelievably easy and time saving!! I do seem to be experiencing a bug. Here's my rig setup: Win7 X64 Media Companion 3.265 also experienced same bug on version 3.260 Same problem as Keypel described. I cannot rename TV episodes. I also tried the same things as Keypel to hopefully workaround the problem, but no luck. I click rename episodes, either individual seasons or as a group, get the warning dialog, click Yes, the dialog closes yet nothing gets renamed. If I go back to 3.244, I can rename episodes no problem. I have all my episodes for one TV show in the same folder, in case that might be causing the problem. Though, MC scrapes everything properly and groups all shows by seasons in the browser, but just cannot rename. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Anyhow, thanks for this great app! | |

| I cannot for the life of me see where the problem is here, but I assure you that I will track it down.
For some reason I can rename every episode I try without issue, whichever format I select in the preferences.
The code became much more complicated when I added the facility to name entire shows and single episodes, but I will spend a little time simplifying it to see if I can spot the problem.
Worst case scenario I will add a log so that you can supply me with information as to what the problem is.
P.S. Is there a particular file type that is failing, or are you using all .avi, .mkv etc or a mixture.
Does the single episode rename work.
And finally, are your TV episode files stored local, or on a network. If its a network, is it mapped to a drive, or using a full network path.
I will get to the bottom of this.

I tried several different formats in 3.265, yet none would rename. - Quote :

I tried a folder that was all .avi and another that was all .mkv, no luck. Yet 3.244 renames no problem. - Quote :

YES, single rename works. In fact, after I renamed a single episode, all renames apparently started to work. I went and selected an entire show to be renamed, and ALL the seasons were renamed. Maybe it needed to find a path or something to start working, and single rename started it. - Quote :

On a USB drive, that I attach locally to transfer and rename data, then move to a media extender to stream.

| I do realize there is a new version of media companion. I have not tried it yet. I'm not sure if this bug (if it is a bug) is addressed or carried onto the next version. I will try the new version soon. I did not realize that renaming a single episode works. I just wanted to confirm that it does. And just as copota discovered, once a single episode gets renamed, the season batch rename works aswell. This is much easier than trying to use two versions of media companion. - Quote :

Seems to be all files - Quote :
