What do I do with a TV Show that has multiple parts... that are released on dvds as single "movie length" episodes.... So when ripped they are in a single file, even though it has multi episodes in it? As teh episodes are combined on the dvd/blu-rays themselves you can not get them split apart again unless you leech a rip form a TV broadcast.

For Example....

Farscape Season 5 is in fact just a single moive... but thetvdb.com lists it as a 2 part series.....

Another more extream example is a cliff hanger ep across seasons... for example in start trek voyager there is a 2 part episode called Unimatrix Zero... 6x024 and 7x01.. how do I handle that?

Again these and others appear on teh dvd/blu-rays as single movie length episodes... so they are ripped as a single mkv.

How dose Media Companion deal with this conundrum?!

if using SxxExx format you would name a single video file containing multiple episodes series 1 episodes 1,2 & 3 as S01E01E02E03.avi

Crossing series however I don't think is supported by MC....but appears as though it is by XBMC....

Basically MC follows the conventions laidout by XBMC since the filenames need to be named using the same format that XBMC could determine the series & episode number. There is information about the naming conventions in the XBMC wiki here...

I prefer to use 1x01 - Episode Name - ( Show Name )

So would this work for example....

5x01-5x02 - The Peacekeeper Wars - (Farscape - MOVIE).avi

I am sorry I do not understand what you mean here.... like name it as above, but do not scrape that one episode with MC and whe nXBMC scans it will use teh internal scrapper for those eps?

6x024-7x01 - Unimatrix Zero - (Voyager).avi ?

in the case of using 1x01 format it would be 1x01x02x03.avi

Also if you have XBMC set up to scrape it will do so if it doesn't find a nfo of the same name as the episode in question.

As you can see the series is defined first & only the episodes can vary, thus you cannot have two different series on the same video file as far as MC is concerned.

I had a bit of a hunt in my files for a double episode like this, as I can't remember how MC records the multi-episode information in the nfo's.

My suggestion would be to initially rename the avi to 1x01x02.avi the scrape that & see what MC creates. Then edit the nfo's to reflect the actual series & episode numbers you need....

A bit of a work around but it should list them as you want.

Cheers
