Hi,

My MC install directory contains a file called "h" which appears to be a temporary file and contains MC style ".nfo" info, I have been finding similar files (differnet letters) all over the place, root drive of my movie drive etc.

If media companion needs to create temp files then it should porbably create these in "%TEMP%" or create a subfolder under that. As these files get recrested when I delete them MC would also appear to not remove them when their purpose in life has gone...

Bye,
Dennis

This sounds like a bug, MC does not need temp files for nfo files

It sounds like the nfo path is messed up on one of the outputs, I need information about the exact function that creates these files, can you find a disconnected nfo file and try to reproduce the action that caused it.

I had one of these in the same folder as Movie Companion.exe

Upon inspection it appeared to be an .nfo file. I deleted it & rescraped the movie that was in the nfo information but no adnormal files reappeared.

I'm using V3.087.

Ok I can replicate this bug......

Firstly rename the h. file in the Media Companion Folder
Leave the Folder open so you can see its contents
Open Media Companion
Choose Media Search

A file named h. will appear

(Note that if h. already exists it is not overwritten)

Note that the contents of the file is the nfo information of the currently selected movie.

Cheers

OK, thanks for that, I found it and it is elimenated from the next release,

It turned out to be a line of testcode that I had forgot to remove.
