PostSubject: V 3.244 Change movie error   V 3.244 Change movie error Icon_minitimeThu Mar 25, 2010 12:00 pm

When trying to change movie (when an incorrect scrape has occurred) by pressing the "Change Movie" button, instead of bringing across the movie title to the IMDB search field it just says "movie". I have tried this on more that one movie.

The search paramater is either the filename or foldername, depending on your settings.

Have you by any chance got the setting 'Use Folder Names For Scraping' enabled.

I just checked and no I didn't. Switching it on forwarded the correct info when trying to change the movie. Turing it back off replicated the problem. Hope this helps fix the problem.

Just figured it out,

MC uses the nfo filename to get the search parameter, eg.
'Star Trek.nfo' would search for 'Star Trek'
You are using 'movie.nfo' for your nfo files, this is cleaned by MC to the title 'movie'

Either use the folder name for the search as above, or disable option to save as movie.nfo.

That works no problem, but someone who didn't know this might think the program was broken. Would it make more sense to pass on the <title> from the .nfo file. That way it wouldn't matter which way people choose to have their files structured (either 'movie.nfo' or 'star trek.nfo' per your example). Is it possible to extract that information?

Please don't think I'm criticizing. I'm just offering a suggestion that I think may help others without an in depth knowledge of the program.

I could very easily adjust the imdb search paramater for that one from the nfo, but you are forgetting that when this is the title that is scraped, and the fact that the change movie is being used means that this will in most cases be wrong.

eg,
I had the movie 'Ca$h'
the file was called 'Cash.avi'

The movie scraped was called 'Walk the Line', not really what I want to be presented within the search box when I got to change the movie.

I could add an option to enable this behaviour, but it seems like an overcomplication for an issue that has already got a solution within the preferences.

I see what you're saying. You've probably got the best way of handling it now then.
