| Changes for version 3.296 - IMDB scraper tweaked - studio information would occasionally still return an error.
- New builds of XBMC require that the runtime field be numerical, i've added an option to the general preferences, to update all movies, use the 'rebuild movie nfo files'from the drop down movie menu. Media Companion should be able to parse most runtime formats eg 1hr 25mins or 150 mins. I'll apply this to tv episodes for the next build.
- The Change movie method tweaked to hopefully remove the false page message a few people have reported.
- Fixed an issue that would result in 2 movies been multi-selected if a movie was selected from the wall.
- I've included the beginnings of a help file for Media Companion, the movie section is about complete, although I keep finding things i've missed, hopefully i'll complete this over the next few weeks. I also want to intergrate this with the actual program
- Offline movie folders can now be added via the offline movie folders panel, either individually via a textbox, or by loading a text file. Media Companion assumes that each line of the text file is a different movie when it creates the folders.
I know it's been quite a while since the last update, but i've had a pretty horrid time over the last month so I haven't got much done, things cleared up a couple of weeks ago, but i've struggled to get back into the swing of things, hopefully i'm getting there now. I appreciate all the feedback, at least I know where I am going now, after the last build I was starting to run out of ideas. Whats next. The rename episode and auto screenshot generator will be intergrated into the command line Batch wizard for tv shows and episodes Download Version 3.296 Regards Billy

| Looks great. I'll test out the new release on my library when I get home.
Haven't posted here before, but I love your software. It's just the thing I needed for my collection at home.
Since I like it so much, I was wondering if I could be of any help.
I noticed you don't have an installer for media companion yet. I've written quite a few installers for projects I've worked on in the past. And I could probably whip up an installer for you pretty easily. Shoot me a line if you are interested and I'll be happy to make one for you. Just my way of trying to give back a little to your project.

| the "Tools" menu next to the Help menu does not open any menu.
2 questions concerning the Movies. one, is there a way to filter Missing Plot. i think i have a couple movies that are missing their Plot, but it can take a while to find them one by one.
second, is there a way to view the movies' media tags?
thanks! | |

thanks! If you go to 'General Preferences' 'Custom Commands' you will understand the 'Tools' menu. I almost posted the same thing a few months ago but then played around and found that...

| Ok, I just found Media Companion on the web and I thought it is an interesting tool. So I headed to this forum and downloaded the last version Media Companion gen2 3.296 (Ive tried with 3.293 having the same results). So I decompress the rar file into a directory (program files) and double click on it, and it doesn't do anything at all. Then I recheck the requirements and find out it needs .net framework 3.5. So I double check if I have it installed. And I do, as a matter of fact its updated with SP1 and a few updates/security patches on top. I tried a repair install on the .net and it worked fine, THE REPAIR not Media Companion. Then I thought it could be that it needs the XBMC installed (I thought it was an independent program from XBMC but I tried it anyway). At the moment is not doing anything at all. I double click the file and nothing comes up. Nothing on the Taskmanager nor ProcessXP Tool (it seems to load for a second on the processXP tool, but nothing appears on the screen and ends up dissapearing. No EventID logged either. So, I dont know what to do, I DO know my way around computers but ... Any clues, please.
Thanks in advance. | |

| Seems to ring a bell from someone posting similar a while back..
Anyway, try extracting it into a simple and short directory structure on your PC, e.g. C:\MC and try that.

| First of all, thanks AnthonyB for your quick answer and for the help. Ok, here is the situation. I had Media Companion (MC from now on) on "F:\Program Files\Video\Media Companion" then I moved it to "f:\Media Companion" and Finally to "C:\MC" Still nothing happens. My system is AMD Quad Core 4GB under Windows XP SP3 (yes I know Ill be better with x64 for those 4GB). I headed once again to windows update and patch/update everything. Updates for each SP of each .Net pacakage (at least for 2 and 3.5). But nothing really happens. I have Comodo Firewall, and use Daemon Tools as well as Virtual CloneDrive. I dont have any resident Antivirus nor Anti-spyware tool. I DO use Sandboxie to run some apps, but never did it with MC. I have Media Portal and XBMC installed. And I use Ati Tray Tools as well (I heard some incompatibilities between ATT and some other programs. So Ive tried it with ATT off still the same.) I dont understand ... what am I doing wrong? Why it does nothing? If at least I have an error code or something, but ... nothing at all. I would apreciate any light on that!! | |

| all of the films in my library seem to have lost their release dates? Not sure if it happened when I did a batch rescrape of that attribute or if something else lost it?
the folders of each film I have are labeled with the date so I can go in and add them all back but we're talking nearly 1000 films.
anyone else having this problem? I tried running batch re-scrape on just that attribute, but still no glory!
