Genre keeps overwriting? Empty

Every time I change a genre for a tv show, I hit save. But as soon as I click another season and go back, the genre is set back!
This is driving me nuts. Am I missing a setting or something?
Using xmbc with NFO files. Updated to latest version.
Any ideas?
