I was thinking about this as well. I'd like to see what media tags a movie has on the main movie screen.

This would be simple to achieve, except for the real estate problem.

It seems that some people are using MC on fairly low-res monitors, the result is that I am limited to what space I have to work with.

Adding anything else to the main page can only be achieved by eating into the fanart/poster panel. I'm not sure that people would want that.

What about using icons (such as from the Transparency skin) and display them along the side of the fanart panel between Studiio and Director?

Then under edit you can put something more specific to the right hand side.

Perhaps it could be a toggleable field for inclusion in the main GUI. Or align the right side of the plot field with outline and tagline and use that screen space for the tags. Also there could be filters for the tags.

Perhaps add a poll to see what res people are using for MC? Just an idea.

I have no doubt that the vast majority of folks are using higher resolutions than the MC minimum, but there seems to be quite a few that are running MC on a netbook, the resolution usually being 1024x600. The result of this was that I decided to use this as the minimum resolution. My desktop res is 1680x1050, and it would be great if I could use at least some of this, but I would not want to discriminate against anyone.

@rynoc
That is perhaps something I could look at, although there would not be enough space between the studio and director labels when MC is viewed at its lowest size.

...perhaps Billy it could be an option.....?

The other thing I thought is could they not go over the fanart - but be selectable on or off?

Cheers

+1

i was gonna post a topic about this, but good thing i searched first. i would also like someway to view the media tags of a movie/tv episode. i would scrape from my xbox and find out some movie files do not have media tags as they were not read properly when originally scraped with MC.

i noticed a "File Details" tab in the movies section. when i click it, it's always blank. maybe that tab is used to view the media tags?
