The first .nfo in the picture is the scene .nfo and is untouched. MC created a .tbn with this file name such that XBMC does not recognise it and no thumb shows. I assume because the .tbn matches the scene .nfo and not the XML .nfo If I put -cd1 into the .tbn file everything is ok as it matches with the XML .nfo.
I am using 2.135 and this happened to all the movies I added since upgrading to this version.

Different versions of XBMC use different conventions, not by design. Once the next stable release comes out the issues should be fixed.
In the meantime - There is an option in the preferences to keep unstacked filenames for .tbn's

XBMC's by design is supposed to support both naming conventions.
Some confusion was caused when they added support for the stackname convention on thumbnails. This addition broke the support for none-stack named thumbs and it was unclear for a while that this was actually a bug. I am told it has been fixed, as has the same issue for fanart.
