TV Shows - Mixed .vob & .avi and folder structure Empty
PostSubject: TV Shows - Mixed .vob & .avi and folder structure   TV Shows - Mixed .vob & .avi and folder structure Icon_minitimeSun Jan 10, 2010 11:09 pm

Hi

Excellent peice of kit.. pleased to have finally gotten my Movie library sorted... was utterly fed up with the xbmc scraper everytime...

I am however having some issues with the TV show function...

File structure is I have a mixture of DVD copies and AVI Rips of a TV Series contained in a simple folder structure

M/TV SHOWS/The Mighty Boosch/Live D1
M/TV SHOWS/The Mighty Boosch/Live D2
M/TV SHOWS/The Mighty Boosch/Season 1 Disc 1
M/TV SHOWS/The Mighty Boosch/Season 1 Disc 2
M/TV SHOWS/The Mighty Boosch/Season 2 Disc 1
M/TV SHOWS/The Mighty Boosch/Season 2 Disc 2

M/TV SHOWS/The Mighty Boosch/Season 3 (contains .avi versions)

This seems to be causeing the programme a headache... It picks up the season 3 .avi's ok but doesn't know what to do with the others

is there a solution for this...? file structure? mapping of folders?

regards

Righto...

from reading other posts in the xbmc forum i gather this function of using VIDEO_TS TV shows is not available as yet as it uses the S00E00 format from the TVDB....

Thus i will use the xbmc scraper to add, edit and store them for now...

This function to creat .nfo files for the dvd copies would be great...

thanks

DVD folders should work fine for TV Episodes, you need to use the same method as for movies.

Use the folder name to specify the episode details
eg
\Lost S01E01\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO
or even
\Lost S01E01\VIDEO_TS.IFO

DVDs with multiple episodes can also be scraped like this
\Lost S01E01E02E03E04\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO
or
\Lost 1x01x02x03x04\VIDEO_TS.IFO
etc

Excellent... so its the folder naming convention which needs changing to the S00E00 values...

Thats the only way to do it without breaking the DVD filesystem.

MC checks for VIDEO_TS.IFO
and creates
VIDEO_TS.nfo
VIDEO_TS.tbn
