TV Show regex help Empty
PostSubject: TV Show regex help   TV Show regex help Icon_minitimeThu Nov 26, 2009 3:24 am

My TV shows are currently set up like this:

\Show Name\Season #\## Episode Name

ex.

\Battlestar Galactica\Season 2\01 Scattered

Does the regex section in the preferences recognize the entire path when figuring everything out or is it just the file name?

I can't figure out what to do (outside of manually editing the file name of each episdoe to a "s02e01 - Scattered" format) to get Media Companion to recognize these shows. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the whole path is used for the regex's

Add the following regex to the TV Regex in the preferences.

Code:
[Ss]eason ([0-9]+)[\\]([0-9]+)

That should allow you to scrape the episodes.

Thanks for the response!

I guess I'm doing something else wrong then. I have something similar in the regex section already. This is what I'm getting when I try to search for new episodes:

I'm close, I can tell. Thanks again for the assistance!

When it says "Season and Episode information found for : G:\The 4400\Season 1\01 Pilot.nfo44x00", is it looking for a "01 Pilot.nfo" file? I can't figure out how to get it to create it (manually creating that file doesn't help).

When it says "Could not locate this episode on TVDB, or TVDB may be unavailable", I can see the show on TVDB when I click on the TVDB tab and its episode list.

I upgraded to the newest version, no luck. I've read through this forum and the thread on the XBMC.org forums, I'm out of ideas.

Yes its converting the 4400 to 44x00 i.e. season 44 Episode 00

You will see the 44x00 at the end of each line, this tells you what it has found & is trying to scrape.

In your regex list change the order so that the new regex is first in the list, that way it should find that match first & thus ignore the rest.

To change the order you just need to copy them to a text file, delete them & then re-add them in the order required...

The other alternative is to just delete all the regex's that you don't need.

Cheers

I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out what to put in the regex to recognize my tv shows.

The are in the following format:
S01E01 - TVSHOW-NAME (EPISODE-TITLE).avi

Any ideas?
Thanks

The standard Regex is all you need to identify the TV Shows....

TV Shows are identified by The TV Show Name - which is determined when you create a new Tv Show folder & then the Series & Episode Number of the filenames of the actual tv show in the TV Show Folder.

So your TV Shows can be as simple as S01E01.avi for example.

Hello,
I don't want to create new thread about same thing. I'm courious how to create regular expression to scrape single season show. My naming convention for that is
TV Show Tittle [episode number] Episode tittle. Ex. Fullmetal Alchemist [07] Night of the Chimera's Cry or Planet Earth [04] Caves. How regex code should looks like ?
BTW. Media Companion is a superb software. Perfect form me since I'm using XBMC on linux machine and on 2 xboxes.

Regards
Marcin

You will still need to add the season even if there is only one....

S01E01....

Cheers
